Hohokum does feature objectives that are solely significant for people trying to complete the game, such as picking up and bringing objects to specified areas of the map. But, for the most part, the purpose of the game is to simply relax and have fun exploring different regions with their distinct visual styles or settings.
While Santa Monica Studio is best known for the God of War franchise, the studio’s first game was a racing game called Kinetica, which was only released on the PlayStation 2 but was re-released in 2016 on the PlayStation 4.
Kinetica, which takes place in the future, pits twelve racers against each other as they zoom around major cities in Kinetic Suits that give them wheels for their hands and feet. There are 15 tracks in total, divided between three cups, sometimes known as seasons. The engine from Happy Wheels game would shortly be used to create the first God of War game.
Santa Monica Studio’s involvement in racing games did not end with a biker punching another rider off their bike in Downhill Domination Kinetica. Downhill Domination is another mountain biking-themed PlayStation 2 game. Santa Monica and Incognito Entertainment, the latter of which is famed for the Twisted Metal franchise, collaborated on its development.

God of War 2 picks up after Kratos has killed Ares in order to become the new God of War. He is, however, deceived by Zeus and brought to the underworld. After being rescued by the Titan Gaia, he travels back in time to get revenge on the gods’ king.
Thatgamecompany is recognized for creating absolutely mind-blowing, beautiful experiences that are aimed to elicit emotions rather than involve the user in intricate gameplay mechanics. Journey, created in collaboration with Santa Monica Studio, is one of their greatest works.
While the specifics of the story are never revealed, players travel through the desert as a robed individual. Players will be able to utilize a melodic chime to activate bits of cloth that will aid in the unlocking of passageways to the next location. At one point, players may be randomly joined by another player with no communication and will only find their identity at the end of the Journey.
God Of War: Ragnarok
Sony Santa Monica opted to revive God of War in 2018 after a long hiatus from the brand. This offers a whole different approach to gameplay while immersing Kratos in Norse mythology. While the first reboot was a masterpiece, the sequel went much further.
God of War: Ragnarok follows Kratos and his son Aterus as they struggle with the consequences of their deeds in the previous game. This includes Odin and his son Thor, the latter of whom Kratos is compelled to fight early on. Many characters from the previous game return in Ragnarok, along with a slew of new enemies.
